Rêves de Moutons

Open Farm Days Adds Shepard to Chef Event

The Open Farm Days event is set to kick off next week with a new addition to summer staple. In addition to being three days this year, a unique fundraiser dinner will be held on Saturday, July 15.

Shepherd to Chef will be presented by Chef Rachel Ponce and Chef Justin Lewis who will create delicious farm fresh fare, wine and spirit pairings for the Open Farm Days Saturday night fête.

Guests will enjoy a beautiful Paso Robles summer evening of savoring, sipping and grazing with Black Market Cheese Co. at Rêves de Moutons as they celebrate the completion of their new dairy. Owners Evan and Kristy Bishop will share their story, sheep-dreams, and farm life.  Farm fresh cocktails and local wines will be enjoyed at perfectly paired grazing vignettes around the property, highlighting locally grown and raised products from the SLO Co Farm Trail. Tickets can be found here.

Guests will blaze their own trail at Open Farm Days July 14 – 16

Open Farm Days is a self-guided journey of over 20 farms and ranches throughout San Luis Obispo County, many of which are not generally open to the public. Our farmers and purveyors will open their gates to host farm tours, workshops, demo’s, tastings and unique agricultural experiences.  Guests will blaze their own trail to learn how to milk a goat, observe busy bees in their hives, stroll through fresh flower fields, sip hard ciders and local wines, graze on locally grown groceries, taste exquisite olive oils, hand-craft aromatic & creative take-a-ways to remember the day by, tour the very fields their lunches were harvested from, cuddle with lambs, became educated gardeners, and so much more. Relax and enjoy locally crafted meals at select picnic spots, shop at pop-up markets, and enjoy tastings of food and potent potables.

This popular event has expanded to three days this year and will kick off July 14th in Paso Robles City Park with an all-new Friday Night Marketplace. SLO County Farm Trail farmers, makers and friends will gather to show-off their locally grown and made. Plan your farm trail adventures for the weekend, meet local farmers & makers who grow our food and make our life essentials and creature comforts. Try your hand at the Farm Supply roping dummy, challenge a new friend at corn hole, play marketplace bingo for prizes, and SHOP LOCAL!

Proceeds from this fundraiser will benefit The Great AGventure and the SLO County Farm Trail.
