5 SLO County Restaurants Receive Prestigious MICHELIN Guide Recognition

This month, the MICHELIN® Guide announced 37 additions to the MICHELIN Guide California selection, including five in San Luis Obispo County.

This prestigious honor highlights the incredible establishments that continue to grow throughout the Central Coast.

These establishments are highlighted as “New” on the MICHELIN Guide’s website.

A full selection will be revealed on Dec. 5 at the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles.

During the MICHELIN Star Revelation event, restaurant teams will find out their MICHELIN Guide distinctions in real time. You can watch the live feed here.

“By revealing some of the new additions made by our inspectors throughout the year, we enhance our digital tools to further strengthen the ties that bind us to food lovers,” said Gwendal Poullennec, international director of the MICHELIN Guides. “We hope that these regular revelations and updates to the selection throughout the year will provide opportunities to highlight the profession and invite everyone to discover and support the restaurants around them.”

Here’s the list of additions with previews of the inspector notes for each restaurant:

Ember MICHELIN Guide

Ember (Arroyo Grande)
Its inviting industrial-rustic interior is the perfect setting for their heartfelt and down-to-earth cooking. You’ll likely never tire of the contemporary menu filled with comforting favorites.

The Hatch Rotisserie

The Hatch (Paso Robles)
It’s all hail to the bird at The Hatch. This downtown Paso Robles restaurant reveres the rotisserie and roasted chicken is indeed the must order.

“Wow, we are honored to be recognized by such an iconic institution as the MICHELIN Guide,” said owner Eric Connolly, “as well as grateful for the support of our local peeps as well as visitors from far and wide.”

“And a warm shout out to the other newly listed Paso restaurants,” said owner Maggie Cameron. “Paso Robles is truly a culinary destination and we cannot imagine living, working, and raising our kids anywhere else.”

in bloom MICHELIN Guide

in bloom (Paso Robles)
Executive Chef Kenny Seliger and Executive Sous Chef Ron Frazier take the now-classic Californian menu and give it a clever update (sweet parsnip cannoli, anyone?) at in bloom. Their cooking is confident, and their dishes really come alive.

Les Petites Canailles MICHELIN Guide

Les Petites Canailles (Paso Robles)
Meals begin with a warm gougère before moving on to a selection of hearty appetizers. The menu features several entrées, though most eyes land on the perfectly cooked steaks.

Nate's On Marsh MICHELIN Guide

Nate’s on Marsh (San Luis Obispo)
Nate Long is the consummate host and the service is exceptionally warm, though it certainly doesn’t hurt that the menu is loaded with classics and riffs on favorites that will have you coming back for more.

“When we initially opened, the thought of running amongst some of the greatest restaurants of all time, seemed impossible. But after a few months of being open, I knew that we had something special. I’m extremely humbled and honored to be recognized,” shares Nate Long.
